About
My name is Holden Turek. I am a student at St. Bonaventure University majoring in Political Science: Security Studies Concentration, with a minor in Arabic & Islamic Studies.
My academic interests include foreign language, Eastern European and Eurasian history, culture, and contemporary political relations, as well as philosophy and American history. Across these fields, I am especially interested in the ways national identity, political ideology, and culture continue to shape public life.
This site brings together my writing, publications, reflections, and photography. It serves as a space for essays, reading notes, public commentary, and selected published work.
Music has also long been an important part of my life. I am actively involved in jazz band and other ensembles, and I play trumpet, guitar, piano, and accordion. My musical interests include traditional pop, swing and big band, doo-wop, bebop, West Coast jazz, and free jazz.
